    Fun SA vs. Soft Boys

    (Arun / Sathish) vs. (Bala / Meenachi)
    Filled with solid serves, accurate backhands and smashing forehands, both teams performed beyond expectations leading to a tie breaker game.



    It didn’t take watchers long time to realize that the fight would be tough. Both teams were in form and focused. After an hour long thrilling performance by each of the 4 players, Soft Boys (Bala / Meenachi) took the first set 7-5.
    FunSA (Arun / Sathish) had not lost hope and came back rejuvenated for the second set. The capability of both teams was further confirmed by a sequence of deuce lasting for half hour culminating into 1-1. How amazing is that!! Dela and I were the only audience for the second set and I bet that she would agree that each serve made us hold our breath as our eyes closely followed the ball being passed back and forth with flawless precision. Finally, after another marathon of exciting and delightful performance by both teams, it was FunSA’s victory over Soft Boys; 6-4.



    Now the third set; it was a do or die situation. But, notably, all 4 players kept the past disappointments, frustration and tiredness aside and played with pride, fun and sheer professionalism. Soft Boys took a lead at 5-2 and it was beginning to look that Fun SA will have tough time to take a leap and cover the gap. But they pulled themselves together and proved that perseverance coupled with temperament can be a key to consistency and focus. Game ended with Fun SA claiming victory with 7-5.



    Both teams played with every ounce of their heart and conjured up an exciting match. It was worth being on court and watching them play. Great game guys!! Looking forward for more engrossing games. J

      Thanks for your comments Richa... It was a wonderful game. 3 hours and 15 minutes went just like that.. All the four of us are very much satisfied with the game.
